Well, in nine days it will be the one-year anniversary of michaelaba.com. My mother would have turned 86 and another summer will have officially begun. And, alas - the complete, finished, firing-on-all-cylinders website won’t quite be ready by our one-year deadline.

But, believe it or not, we’re close…

Seven of the eight books are now offered with sparkling new fonts and smoother iPad and iPhone text, with only “Bingo Ray” awaiting a final round of edits from me. The screenplays are ready AND we’ve just about got a handle on the formatting issues that have prevented us from publishing on the site so far. And we’ve figured out how to play a CD in its entirety and offer gift certificates, though our progress has been stymied by iCloud glitches I won’t get into here. But we’re on the cusp!

And my immediate goal after finishing Bingo Ray is to record the songs I’ve written since this whole process began. We’ll share them on the site as well - and I’ll also likely be following-through on my threat to have a section dedicated to the older, tascam 4-track-cassette recorded songs.

And then, we’re done! Except maybe for the actual film of “Lori and the Landlord’s Grill” we’re expecting to include at some point… And maybe more streamlined ways to get your reviews on the site… And we’ve been hinting at having a podcast - mainly so you can all listen to the musings of our website genius Kyle for yourselves…

And, of course, the ultimate goal is to have an outlet for NEW stories to be written soon! These monthly blogs will keep you apprised… I understand why many people view a website as a living, breathing thing in need of constant care. I’m not saying I agree, but I understand.

So - Happy Anniversary to us, Happy Birthday to Mom, and Happy Summer to all of you! Thanks for all the support - and the kind reviews, too! I’ve only missed one monthly blog so far, and hopefully September won’t slip away for a second consecutive year.

Please make sure your downloads come with the gold line under the title as shown below - it’s our way of making sure you have the complete, revised version of whichever selection you purchased! And - see you next month!
